Nothing screams taste of down home, Southern delicious like crawfish hush puppies! They taste sooo good you can’t seem to get enough.
Crawfish Hushpuppies
1 cup yellow corn meal
3/4 cup self-rising flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 TBSP Seasonest Original
1/2 small onion, chopped
1/4 cup chives, chopped
1/2 pound cooked crawfish, chopped
1 1/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 medium jalapeño, chopped
Frying oil
Add corn meal, flour, salt, Seasonest Original, onion and chives to a bowl and set aside.
Mix egg into buttermilk in a small bowl.
Use a large bowl to mix crawfish, buttermilk, buttermilk and egg mixture, and jalapeño.
Combine dry mixture from first bowl to the large bowl and stir until crawfish are coated and ingredients are mixed well.
Preheat frying oil in a pot to 350 degrees.
Form the crawfish batter into balls about the size of golf balls and add to the hot oil.
Cook until crispy and golden brown.
